The University will provide reasonable accommodations to qualified individuals with disabilities.**JOB SUMMARY** The Admission Counselor coordinates recruiting and admission activities for an assigned territory. This person will counsel students on the admission process; assist in the daily admission activities for Hamline University; and work with individuals and groups to achieve the University’s strategic undergraduate enrollment goals. **ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES**● Serves as a member of the admission team managing a recruitment territory.● Implements recruitment strategies as outlined in the admissions plan in the assigned territory to include high school and/or community college visits, college fairs, area receptions, and events.● Initiates, plans, and executes special projects in conjunction with the goals and objectives of the office.● Works with community and alumni organizations that assist with the recruitment of students.● Delivers engaging admissions presentations for prospective students and visitors during on- and off-campus recruitment events. May also conduct campus tours when needed.● Helps execute large scale on-campus recruiting events, engaging with students, guests, faculty, and staff colleagues.● Advises students and families of admission requirements, transfer guidelines, financial aid and scholarship information, and residence life, etc.● Provides follow up to students and parents via phone, letters, email, and scheduled appointments in specific recruitment territory.● Reviews admission applications, evaluates credentials, and makes admission decisions.● Uses Slate CRM (Customer Relationship Management) System to manage recruitment activities, track prospective student interactions, and monitor application progress.● Assists colleagues as needed and contributes to the team spirit and goals.● Completes routine reports related to recruitment, projections, travel, special programs, and professional development.● Evaluates program effectiveness, assesses outcomes, and develops improved programming.● Adheres to University policies and procedures regarding travel and procurement.● Perform additional work-related duties as assigned. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position. **REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS**This position reports to the: Assistant Vice President of UndergraduateAdmissionThis position does not supervise other employees.**BUDGET MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES**This position is responsible for the following budget: n/aBudget Range: This position is not responsible for the management of a budget. **REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND KEY COMPETENCIES**● Creative problem solver.● Understand the benefits of a liberal arts education within a private educational institution.● Demonstrated skills in: Writing, speaking, networking, and presentations.● Working knowledge of marketing concepts, Customer Relationship Management (CRM) databases and communication planning.● Ability and willingness to work with a diverse population of students.
