Certified Nursing Assistant Job Requirements

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification
• Minimum of two years of bedside clinical experience highly desired
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Ability to work three 12-hour night shifts per week
• Knowledge of safe patient handling, infection prevention, and workplace safety practices
• Ability to maintain patient privacy and follow HIPAA and applicable healthcare standards
• Strong communication, organization, teamwork, and clinical documentation skills

Hospital CNA Responsibilities

• Perform routine patient care and direct bedside nursing support under the general supervision of a Registered Nurse
• Assist with patient needs while maintaining comfort, dignity, and safety
• Document care provided accurately and communicate patient concerns or changes to the nursing team
• Follow safe patient-handling procedures and report hazards, risks, or safety concerns promptly
• Support menu selection and meal service processes in accordance with prescribed diets, allergies, sensitivities, and patient preferences
• Prepare, deliver, and retrieve patient menus and nourishment items as directed
• Verify diet changes and ensure menu and nourishment labels reflect current orders
• Communicate patient care, dietary, and food-service concerns to the appropriate department
• Assist with meal service, trayline, and related departmental activities as needed
• Protect confidential patient information and follow organizational policies and applicable regulatory guidelines
• Attend required in-services and departmental meetings and perform other assigned duties
