Make a meaningful impact as an ASL Paraprofessional working closely with an elementary student in a supportive educational environment. This full-time contract position offers 32 hours per week, providing the opportunity to foster student growth and inclusion using your strong American Sign Language skills.

You’ll collaborate with teachers and staff to help deliver a positive learning experience, adapting communication strategies to ensure the student’s needs are met. Qualifications:

• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) is required.
• Experience as a paraprofessional, especially in school settings, is highly desirable.
• Comfort and confidence working one-on-one with elementary-aged students.
• Patient, collaborative, and adaptable approach to assisting children with diverse learning needs.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• EIPA certification is not required.

Responsibilities:

• Serve as a communication partner for an elementary-aged male student, supporting him in academic and social activities throughout the school day.
• Assist the classroom teacher in implementing lesson plans and classroom routines.
• Facilitate the student’s participation and interaction with peers and staff using ASL.
• Support the student in transitioning between activities, ensuring his safety and well-being.
• Promote independence, self-advocacy, and positive engagement.
