With a nationwide footprint and opportunities for growth across multiple locations and disciplines, SPL is a place where you can build a career while making a real-world impact.We're searching for a detail-oriented Sample Management Technician to join our environmental testing lab in Kilgore, TX.In this role, you'll handle the intake, documentation, and organization of environmental samples to support compliance and decision-making. From logging samples into the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) to overseeing storage and distribution, your work ensures accuracy, efficiency, and integrity across the lab.What You'll DoReceive and document samples from clients, couriers, shipping, laboratory, and/or field staffVerify that all samples meet condition standards and comply with organizational policies, quality requirements, and applicable regulatory guidelinesAccurately record sample information, details, and required analyses in laboratory software systemLabel, organize, and distribute samples to appropriate personnel in a timely mannerMaintain orderly and secure sample storage areas and oversee the proper placement, retrieval, and disposal of samples in accordance with established protocolsPrepare sample kits and manage outbound shipments as requiredProvide assistance to colleagues and support related operational functions, including inventory management, supply preparation, and general support activitiesMaintain a clean, safe, and compliant work environment in alignment with company standards and safety requirementsComplete assigned tasks within established timelines while upholding accuracy, quality, and procedural standardsPerform other duties as assigned, within the scope of the position and training providedRequirementsHigh School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a science-related discipline preferredDemonstrated professional experience in data entry, administrative support, or clerical roles within high-volume, fast-paced environmentsPrevious experience in laboratory sample management, such as sample receiving, handling, login, or tracking, strongly preferredProficiency with Microsoft Office Suite required; LIMS experience preferredWhat We OfferCompetitive hourly payAnnual performance-based merit increaseCareer advancement opportunitiesMedical, dental, and vision coverage401(k) with company matchEmployer-paid life, AD&D, and disability insurancePaid time off, sick leave, and paid holidaysPaid parental leaveEmployee Assistance Program (EAP)Tuition reimbursement and professional development supportWork Schedule & TravelFull-time, onsite positionAbility to work beyond standard hours, including evenings or weekends, as operational needs requireOur Commitment to Diversity & InclusionAt SPL, we believe that a diverse team is a strong team.
