Job Summary

STAFFXPERT LLC is seeking an AVP/VP, Commercial Property Pricing Actuary on behalf of our client in the New York City, Greater Philadelphia, or Greater Phoenix metropolitan areas . This is a high-impact leadership opportunity to lead and build the actuarial pricing function for a growing Commercial Property business. The successful candidate will establish pricing frameworks, strengthen portfolio analytics and governance, and partner closely with underwriting, product, claims, finance, and executive leadership to drive profitable growth and shape the future direction of the business.

The level of the position will be determined based on the candidate's experience and qualifications.

Key Responsibilities AVP Level

• Lead commercial property pricing analyses, portfolio monitoring, and profitability assessments.
• Develop pricing recommendations and provide actionable insights to underwriting, product, finance, and claims partners.
• Build and enhance pricing frameworks, governance processes, reporting, and analytical tools.
• Evaluate portfolio performance and identify opportunities to improve profitability, growth, and risk selection.
• Manage strategic projects and priorities independently while mentoring and developing actuarial talent.
• Influence business decisions through rigorous analysis, technical expertise, and effective collaboration.

VP Level

• Establish the pricing strategy, governance framework, and long-term vision for the Commercial Property portfolio.
• Own pricing performance and accountability for profitability, growth, rate adequacy, and strategic outcomes.
• Lead, develop, and scale the actuarial pricing organization, including talent development and succession planning.
• Partner with executive leadership on business strategy, risk appetite, portfolio management, and growth initiatives.
• Define pricing standards, decision-making frameworks, and analytical capabilities to support disciplined execution.
• Influence enterprise-level decisions and build organizational capabilities for a growing business.

Required Qualifications

• ACAS or FCAS designation required.
• Bachelor's degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, or another quantitatively rigorous field.
• Significant commercial property pricing experience, including individual risk, portfolio management, or product pricing.
• Experience working closely with underwriting and product leaders in a fast-paced commercial insurance environment.
• Experience managing and developing actuarial team members.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Demonstrated ability to translate actuarial analysis into practical business recommendations.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt effectively in a dynamic environment.

AVP Level

• 7 10 years of actuarial experience.
• Significant commercial property pricing expertise.

VP Level

• 10 15+ years of actuarial experience.
• FCAS strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated track record leading commercial property pricing and portfolio management strategies.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience launching a new product, entering a new market segment, or building pricing processes and capabilities from the ground up.
• Experience establishing pricing governance, infrastructure, and analytical frameworks in an evolving organization.
• Strong commercial acumen and demonstrated ability to influence senior leadership.
• Experience shaping risk appetite, portfolio strategy, and profitable growth initiatives.
• Passion for building new capabilities and helping develop a growing Commercial Property franchise.
