If you instinctively translate GD&T into inspection plans and your go-to tools are a CMM, calipers, gauges, and micrometers, you’ll feel right at home. As a Quality Assurance Metrology Analyst at Zero Hour Parts, you will verify parts from development through manufacturing, analyze results, and help ensure the efficiency and cost-effectiveness of product output.
What you’ll tackle- Turn customer blueprints and specifications into actionable inspection steps and acceptance criteria.
- Measure finished parts with handheld instruments and operate a CMM to validate capability.
- Accept or reject product; segregate nonconforming material to protect the customer.
- Run first article inspections and make sure all required paperwork ships with the packaged part.
- Sign Certificates of Conformance for the packing department.
- Capture results, analyze trends, and deliver clear reports to the Lead Quality Inspector, Cell Leaders, and Manufacturing Manager.
- Issue and track shop tools; keep the tool inventory accurate and ready.
- Contribute to monitoring of production efficiency and cost-effectiveness through data-driven insights.
- Stay sharp on evolving quality and accreditation standards, industry literature, and agency requirements.
- Work within the Zero Hour Parts quality management system; take on other assigned duties.
- High school diploma or GED; Associate degree preferred.
- ASQ credentials are a plus; metallurgy laboratory training preferred.
- Demonstrated skill with gauges, calipers, micrometers, and CMM equipment.
- Careful, methodical work habits; knowledge of quality processes, statistical methods, measurement and test equipment, and FMEA.
- Broad material familiarity (steel, aluminum, stainless, plastics, titanium, copper, brass) and multi-industry exposure (aerospace, automotive, medical device) helpful.
- Keen attention to detail, comfort with data, and strong fundamentals in math, reading comprehension, and active listening.
- Initiative, teamwork, and solid professional judgment; able to work independently and organize your time effectively.
- Thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume, and challenging environment with a strong work ethic and reliable attendance.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Outlook; relevant software skills for your area are desired.
