Job Overview
Express Employment Professionals in Akron is partnering with a respected manufacturing client in Barberton, OH to hire a Rubber Manufacturing Team Lead . This hands-on leadership role is ideal for someone with strong production experience and a focus on quality, continuous improvement, and team accountability.
Key Responsibilities
Perform first-piece and hourly quality checks in both press and trim operations
Set and communicate daily production goals based on customer demands
Track and review production performance; collect and verify daily reporting sheets
Provide performance feedback to management on team members
Monitor workflow through production cells and address issues impacting delivery timelines
Assist with production planning and scheduling
Execute metal insert receiving processes using AS9100-compliant documentation
Conduct cycle counts for customer-owned materials
Ensure proper use and accuracy of compliance documentation
Identify failure trends and implement immediate corrective actions
Verify accuracy of shipping paperwork and coordinate with packing team
Lead continuous improvement initiatives related to quality, productivity, and AS/ISO compliance
Qualifications
Previous experience in manufacturing, preferably rubber or plastics
Prior leadership or supervisory experience in a production environment
Strong understanding of quality control processes
Familiarity with AS9100 / ISO standards is highly preferred
Excellent organizational and communication skills
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, hands-on environment
