If you love turning a stack of work requests into a streamlined, fully utilized maintenance schedule, this role is for you. We’re seeking an Industrial Maintenance Scheduling Strategist to orchestrate planned work, maximize technician utilization, and keep our Ready Backlog at or above 80%.

Your impact

• Evaluate non-emergency requests, define scope, and inspect job sites to confirm requirements.
• Build precise plans: labor hours, crafts/skills, parts, materials, equipment, and special tooling to execute safely and efficiently.
• Gather drawings, schematics, specifications, and spare parts lists from equipment histories, OEM manuals, and the Knowledgebase; verify parts availability before committing to the schedule.
• Arrange for special tools and auxiliary equipment as needed.
• Maintain and prioritize the work order backlog; plan the highest-value work next and keep a healthy Ready Backlog (≥ 80%).
• Continuously improve Job Plans for accuracy and effectiveness.
• Lead weekly planning and scheduling meetings with Production to align on priorities and communicate status; pivot plans as operations change.
• Create a Weekly Technician Schedule blending priority planned jobs with preventative maintenance to utilize 100% of available technician labor hours.
• Use maintenance metrics to review and improve planning and scheduling performance.
• Maintain records and files that enable meaningful analysis and reporting.
• Train site employees on CMMS; safeguard system integrity and adoption.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree in a technical field (required) plus 1–3 years in maintenance scheduling/planning and/or 5–10 years as a machine repair technician; or an equivalent mix.
• Industrial manufacturing familiarity with solid electrical/mechanical aptitude.
• Proficient with computers, maintenance systems, and Microsoft Office.
• Excellent verbal communication, facilitation, and presentation skills.
• Ability to develop and sustain professional, positive relationships.

Preferred credentials

• Leadership ambition.
• Experience in job plan development, job scheduling, and work execution.
• Project management and capital project exposure.
• CMRP, Green Belt, or STS certification.

Physical demands and environment

• Regularly: stand; walk; use hands/fingers; reach with hands/arms; climb, ascend/descend, or balance (may require ladder or lift); stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl in confined spaces; and talk/hear.
• Occasionally: sit; lift and/or move more than 50 pounds; work in outside weather; encounter risk of electrical shock.
• Vision: close and color vision used regularly.
• Environment: factory setting that’s usually very loud, with potential exposure to hazardous materials and/or greasy or slippery floors.

Pay and benefits

Pay Range
$93,475.37 - $119,546.72
