Medical Assistant

Job Summary and Job Duties:

This position is responsible for assisting doctors and mid-levels while in office. Implementing strategies to achieve the department goal. Will ensure each workflow is followed for multiple doctors and mid-levels. Good organization skills and possess the ability to handle information in a confidential manner. This person will have a good personality with the ability to establish good working relationships with varying personalities (patients, co-workers, physicians and hospitals) This position requires the ability to perform office work directly related to general business operations, must exercise discretion and independent judgment.

The duties include but are not limited to:

• Maintain patient medical records
• Respond to patient inquiries via telephone and/or patient portal
• Maintain supplies in station are stocked to ensure clinic runs efficiently
• Provide education to patients pertaining to their need
• Schedule patient appointments, diagnostic testing and/or surgical procedures
• Triage patients such as collecting medical history, medications, and vital signs
• Sterilization techniques required
• Remove cast and sutures
• Good communication with entire team, team lead and manager
• Ability to work independently and to carry out assignment to completion while maintaining a positive attitude
• Ensures all services are provided in a professional and safe manner
• Perform other job duties assigned by manager

Reporting Relationship:

The medical assistant will work under the direct supervision of the Office Manager with the

support of the team lead and will be expected to work under their own initiative.
