About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Staff Augmentation Duration: 80 hours Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 hours (6:00 AM - 6:30 PM) Experience: Open to recent graduates and less than 1 year of experience in skilled nursing facility or long-term care experience. License: Valid nursing license Certifications: Required nursing certifications Description: Schedule is for 12-hour shifts from 6:00 AM to 6:30 PM. This is a full-time position requiring 36-40 hours per week. Candidates will work 36 hours in the first week and 40 hours in the following week, alternating every other week. Job Responsibilities: Administer medication and perform treatments as ordered by the physician within the scope of the nursing license. Receive and deliver a variety of information regarding residents' medical, social, and functional needs. Participate in receiving and giving shift reports. Communicate with residents, families, and staff as necessary to ensure appropriate care from the interdisciplinary team. Perform the initial nursing assessment on newly admitted residents. Assist with the development of the Minimum Data Set assessments, ongoing quarterly reviews, and care plans. Maintain appropriate clinical and administrative documentation regarding diagnosis, assessments, treatment, and summary of client progress. Lead and perform limited supervision of subordinate staff and assist with direct resident care for completing activities of daily living. Conduct and participate in in-service training and staff development programs. Utilize concepts and tools for problem solving and continuous work/process improvements. Additional duties may be assigned as related to the position. Knowledge Required: Knowledge of gerontological nursing theory and practices. Understanding of residents' changing medical, physical, and psychological needs. Knowledge of the aging process and relevant practices and procedures. Practices and procedures of team nursing and developing treatment plans. Knowledge of pharmacology and medications. Familiarity with federal and state laws, rules, and regulations governing nursing practices. Professional nursing methods and techniques. Ability to observe and assess patient behavior and progress. Understanding of state laws and regulations governing nursing practices. Capability to develop and implement patient care plans within a team nursing concept. Effective oral and written communication skills. Ability to build interpersonal relationships. Willingness to learn, implement, and monitor improvement concepts and tools for efficiency.
