Job Title: Client Child Health RN Profession: RN Specialty: Newborn Nursery Duration: 14 weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Current State Licensure Certifications: Basic Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Neonatal Resuscitation Program, AWOHHN Fetal Monitoring certification Must-Have: Three years experience in Labor and Delivery, Three years experience in Nursery, Three years experience in Med-Surg Description: The Client Child Health RN is responsible and accountable to a group of patients for a designated time frame. S/he provides care to patients through the therapeutic use of the nursing process. Collaboration and integration with other health care team members are essential. S/he demonstrates the knowledge and skills needed to provide care relevant to the patients under his/her care. Applying principles of growth and development over the life span is fundamental to the role. S/he assesses and interprets patient data needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to age-specific needs. S/he functions as a primary RN in various areas, including Labor & Delivery, Newborn Nursery, Level II Nursery, and Mother-Baby care. The RN may be required to float to other hospital areas as directed by hospital leadership. When floated, adherence to the guidance of the Charge Nurse or RN in the assigned department is expected. Maintaining high standards of care and safety within the scope of practice is imperative. Education and Training Requirements: Current state licensure is required. Basic Life Support certification is necessary upon hire. Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification is necessary upon hire. Neonatal Resuscitation Program certification is necessary upon hire. AWOHHN Fetal Monitoring certification is necessary upon hire. STABLE certification is preferred. Baby Friendly experience is preferred. Work Schedule: Every third weekend is required. Block scheduling is available upon request.
