Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring C-EFM certification, Cerner experience, and local candidates within 60 miles.

Details

• Hospital-based Labor & Delivery unit
• Patient ratio of 1:2
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours, 18:50-07:20
• 13-week assignment length
• Float required to Mother/Baby unit, with scrub floating preferred
• Call required, 2 shifts per 6-week schedule
• Every other weekend required
• Cerner charting system used

Requirements

• Active RN license - Compact or MD state license required
• Current certifications: C-EFM (NCC), BLS, NRP, and STABLE required; ACLS preferred
• 3 years of Labor & Delivery experience required, though 2 years with strong experience may be considered
• Charge nurse experience preferred
• Scrub experience preferred
• Cerner charting system experience preferred
• Teaching hospital, community hospital, and Trauma Level I experience preferred
• Minimum of one completed travel assignment required for consideration
• Two supervisory references required, including one from the most recent assignment
• Must support at least 2 years of experience within the previous 3 years
• 2 years of recent experience within the last 7 years required

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive Labor & Delivery nursing care including assisting with high-risk and vaginal deliveries, circulating and scrubbing for C-sections, and recovering C-section patients
• Perform fetal monitoring including external and internal fetal monitoring and IUPC placement/calibration
• Support antepartum, postpartum, and newborn care including NST/OCT testing, lactation support, and newborn assessments
• Administer medications including Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, and antihypertensives
• Local candidates within 60 miles are accepted
• Candidates must reside within 60 miles for local status, with address matching driver's license
• No RTO permitted during the first two weeks of the assignment
• Maximum RTO of 7 days per 13-week contract
• Previous MedStar employees must have been separated for at least one year before returning as a traveler
• First-time travelers are not considered for this position; travel experience is required
