Job Description

A The Woodlands-based Contemporary Mexican Restaurant is hiring a passionate Line Cook / Prep Cook to join our opening team. The ideal candidate has experience working in a fast-paced kitchen environment and enjoys preparing high-quality food while maintaining consistency, cleanliness, and teamwork. We seek individuals with a positive attitude, passion for cooking, and a desire to be part of an incredible team.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook high-quality menu items following recipes, presentation standards, and food safety guidelines.
• Prepare ingredients by washing, chopping, slicing, measuring, marinating, and portioning food for daily service.
• Set up and stock workstations with all necessary ingredients and supplies before each shift.
• Cook menu items according to restaurant recipes while maintaining consistency, quality, and presentation standards.
• Assist with preparing sauces, salsas, dressings, soups, and other menu components.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitized workstation throughout service.
• Monitor food quality, portion control, cooking times, and proper food storage.
• Rotate products using FIFO (First In, First Out) procedures to minimize waste and maintain freshness.
• Work closely with kitchen team members to maintain a smooth and efficient operation during service.
• Assist with receiving deliveries, organizing inventory, stocking, and labeling products.
• Comply with all health department regulations and restaurant safety procedures.

What You Bring

• Bilingual (English/Spanish) We speak your language!
• Previous Line Cook, Prep Cook, or Kitchen Cook experience preferred.
• Experience working in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
• Knowledge of food preparation techniques, knife skills, cooking methods, and food safety.
• Passion for food, hospitality, and teamwork.
• Positive attitude, responsibility, and a desire to be part of an incredible team.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work well under pressure.
• Ability to multitask and maintain quality during busy service periods.
• Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States.
