About the Job:

We're excited to announce an opportunity for the position of Finance Specialist! Under the guidance of the Vice President, Controller, the Finance Specialist performs activities related to cash flow, borrowings, and debt management. This role also maintains cash balances and compiles reports and reconciliations on monthly, quarterly and annual basis.

The hiring range for this position is $45,000 to $55,000. Starting pay determined based on candidate’s qualifications and experience.

This position is Full Time, 40 hours weekly.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Other Duties May be Assigned):

• Oversees the daily balancing of correspondent bank account with M&T.
• Balances daily ACH700 and Federal Reserve GL to the Fed
• Submits branch cash orders to the Federal Reserve and maintains ATM cash Vault
• System administrator for the General Ledger system.
• Processes foreign incoming wires from the correspondent bank.
• Balances payroll DDA and corresponding payroll related account.
• Assists in wire processing, verifying changes in PayPlus, resetting passwords, and answering various questions.
• Prepares and pays weekly, monthly and year end withholding taxes. Submits year end withholding tax returns.
• Completes daily cash management as needed
• Prepares various monthly reconciliations of general ledger accounts and DDAs.

• Other job duties, as assigned.

Knowledge and Skills

It is required that the employee in this position can work independently while interpreting ideas and facts. This employee should have strong written communication skills, as well as exceptional verbal and numerical aptitudes.

This position requires intermediate knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite.

Education and Work Experience

An Associate’s degree in Accounting, or equivalent experience is required, along with a minimum of three years of related work experience in banking or finance. One year of accounting experience in a banking environment is preferred.

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements

This position is in an office environment, which means the physical surroundings are generally pleasant and comfortable with minimal exposure to injury or other hazards, with a moderate level of noise. Prolonged periods of sitting and looking at a computer screen with freedom of movement on a regular basis is expected. Minimal physical effort is required but could include: repetitive motion of wrists and fingers; talking and hearing; and handling of light materials and supplies.
