Area Service Manager

Job Summary Area Service Manager at Trane Technologies – Charleston, WV. Work Arrangement Monday through Thursday onsite with colleagues; Friday remote or flexible location. Responsibilities P&L responsibility and provide monthly revenue forecasting. Drive growth of the service agreement base and repair/installation service turnkey initiatives in partnership with the acquisition team. Control budget, managing expenses against targets for overhead items such as fleet, uniforms, tools, and safety equipment. Mitigate risk in service agreements, turnkey projects, and repair work. Oversee service coordination to respond efficiently to customers, ensuring technicians are trained and skilled and resources are leveraged across the district. Manage emergency repairs, regular maintenance contracts, scheduled work, upgrades, installations, replacements, and long‑term service agreements. Attract, coach, counsel, train, and develop all service employees. Drive continuous improvement through performance management and technical product training programs. Develop employee skill levels in customer service, processes, and technical proficiency to the highest degree possible. Confirm margin expectations are met during sales and fulfillment activities. Maximize cash flow by generating invoices immediately upon completion of work, managing expense budgets, and increasing utilization of the service team. Ensure standard service work processes are created and followed. Improve transactional processes impacting the customer experience and overall satisfaction. Ensure environmental, health, and safety compliance within the service team. Provide training to all employees to ensure a safe and productive environment in the shop and at customer sites. Travel to customer job sites is required, including outdoor work, mechanical/equipment rooms, variable weather, heights, and other environmental conditions. Qualifications 5+ years experience in HVAC or related field, technical systems, equipment, or skilled trades. 3+ years managing and coaching large teams and organizing work schedules. Project management skills to oversee and drive successful project execution for new and customer requests. Tech‑savvy with expertise in Microsoft applications. Salesforce experience considered an asset. Valid driver’s license for a minimum of 12 months, with no major or frequent traffic violations (including DUI, Hit & Run, license suspension, reckless or careless driving) in the previous 3 years. Compensation & Benefits Annual Base Salary Range: $83,600.00 – $119,630.00. Compensation Type: Salary. Incentive Eligible: Yes.
