Speech-Language Pathology Services
This 13-week contract role provides speech-language pathology services in a psychiatric setting near Arlington, Texas. You will assess, treat, and document patients with communication and swallowing disorders, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to optimize outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess patients with comprehensive speech-language evaluations, gathering history and conducting examinations to identify communication and swallowing disorders.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with the treatment team.
- Perform periodic re-evaluations and adjust therapy approaches to optimize outcomes.
- Document all assessments, therapy sessions, and progress notes accurately and timely, ensuring compliance with facility policies.
- Support patient safety and comfort during interventions, maintaining clear communication with patients and team members.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology
- Current, unrestricted Texas SLP license
- 2+ years of experience in speech-language pathology
- Prior experience in psychiatric or mental health settings
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification recommended
- Ability to work at Terrell State Hospital
- Flexibility with schedule and days
- Strong documentation skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Preferred Skills:
- ASHA certification (preferred)
- Experience with mental health patients (highly preferred)
