Make a real difference in the lives of middle school students as a Special Education Teacher in a dynamic, supportive environment. This full-time, onsite contract position focuses on providing individualized instruction and fostering student growth in a bustling educational setting.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid certification in Special Education.
- Must hold certification in either Wilson or Orton-Gillingham methodologies.
- Experience working within a middle school setting is highly valued.
- Strong ability to adapt curriculum and teaching strategies to meet diverse student needs.
- Excellent communication skills for collaborating with staff, families, and support personnel.
- Thorough understanding of IEP development, implementation, and compliance.
Core Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction using Wilson or Orton-Gillingham programs to support struggling readers and students with identified learning differences.
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to each student's unique abilities.
- Collaborate closely with classroom teachers, paraprofessionals, and other service providers to ensure consistent support and integration of services.
- Conduct regular assessments and adjust instruction based on data to drive continuous improvement in student outcomes.
- Maintain accurate records, including student progress, attendance, and compliance documentation.
- Engage in ongoing professional development and remain current with best practices in special education.
