We are building the future of care for older adults, grounded in purpose, accountability, and respect for the people and communities we serve.The JobThe Senior Business Analyst serves as the critical link between business stakeholders and technical teams (development, data science, data warehouse and infrastructure) by translating prioritized business needs into detailed technical and data requirements for proposed analytic solutions. The individual acts as a trusted advisor to technical delivery teams, applying back-end data knowledge to ensure requirements are complete, feasible, and buildable, surfacing data quality, structure, and integration considerations early enough to prevent rework. This role is dedicated to supporting our Operations (e.g., claim adjudication, payment integrity), Experience (e.g., member call center, digital and member portal teams, member experience), and Commercial (e.g., sales, marketing) teams, developing the domain depth in each area needed to translate business needs into technical designs that reflect how these teams' data and processes actually work. The Senior Business Analyst shapes business use cases into the detailed specifications, data mappings, and technical designs that delivery teams need to execute.You WillPartners with business stakeholders, particularly in the Member Experience, Operations and Commercial functions to solve complex business problems by designing custom data and analytics solutions to support informed decision-making in pursuit of critical outcomes for SCANInterprets and develops business requests into well-defined requirements and acceptance criteria, using sound business acumen and deep understanding of data and technical platforms within the context of the operating environment.Collaborate with development teams and stakeholders to identify business needs, evaluate AI-driven and data analytics solutions, and recommend scalable technology approaches that align with business objectives, technical capabilities, and enterprise data strategy.Responsible for exploratory data analysis, as well as creation of wireframes, mock-ups, and proofs of concept to ensure the scope of work presented to delivery teams will meet the needs of the business.Develop and maintain actionable hybrid Functional Design Documents (FDDs)/Technical Design Documents (TDDs), and user stories to support solution delivery, while serving as the primary liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams to clarify requirements, define business rules, and facilitate issue resolution throughout the development lifecycle.Collaborate with development teams and stakeholders to identify business needs, evaluate AI-driven and data analytics solutions, and recommend scalable technology approaches that align with business objectives, technical capabilities, and enterprise data strategyLeads User Acceptance Testing (UAT) along with business users against documented acceptance criteria and exercises judgement in considering modifications or enhancements that should be incorporated in the current development cycle.Continuously expands expertise in business processes, applications, data domains, and industry practices to support effective requirements analysis, solution design, and stakeholder engagement.Provides thought leadership and promotes best practices to deliver effective, user-friendly and sustainable solutions.Apply advanced analytic techniques to solve business problems and address needs.We seek Rebels who are curious about AI and its power to transform how we operate and serve our members.Actively support the achievement of SCAN’s Vision and Goals.Other duties as assigned.Your QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Business, Statistics, Analytics, or Technology related discipline or equivalent experienceComfortable interviewing and presenting to all levels of management.Experienced in creating best-in-class solutions with BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, SSRS) with demonstrated ability to design effective and easy to use interfaces for a wide range of personas.Knowledge of operations and data utilized in Medicare Advantage or other managed care models, with emphasis on claims, coding, membership and experience datasetsStrong understanding of data warehousing concepts and familiarity with cloud platforms (Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Snowflake, Databricks).Experience with querying and manipulating data structures in on-premises or cloud data warehouses (SQL, Snowflake, Databricks, SSIS).Familiarity with AI tools and techniques, machine learning, data science, and advanced statistical techniques and concepts.Able to work in a scaled Agile framework.Experienced working with both onshore and offshore development teams.Understanding of health plan strategic objectives, especially around member experienceAbility to translate vague business questions into structured analytical problems, and work with technical colleagues to architect and deliver solutionsProficient in mapping existing workflows and identifying pain points or inefficienciesFacilitates stakeholder interviews, requirement-gathering workshops, and sprint planningManages a backlog of competing priorities and aligns analytics deliverables with business valueSQL proficiency for querying and validating data (Snowflake, SQL Server, etc.).Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or SSRSUnderstanding of data models and ability to collaborate with data engineers (e.g., star schema, data marts).Conducts detailed interviews to elicit and document business needsWrites clear user stories, acceptance criteria, and use casesUnderstands the lifecycle of analytic product development (from ideation to delivery)Participates in sprint planning, backlog grooming, and UAT testing;
