Position Summary:

Under general supervision, the role involves collecting past-due loans by contacting members and documenting progress. The position ensures that repossessions and liquidations comply with Westmark policy and state regulations. It also includes initiating recovery efforts on accounts with Lenders Protection and filing skip claims with SWBC and Lenders Protection

Responsibilities:

• Initiate collection efforts on delinquent accounts via telephone and letters.
• Document all collection activities thoroughly and accurately.
• Ensure timely preparation of documents.
• Assist with the repossession of collateral in compliance with Westmark policy and state/local regulations.
• Ensure billings and invoices are up to date.
• Follow up on repossession refunds with dealerships.
• Assign accounts for skip tracing efforts to locate and recover collateral as approved.
• Complete and file insurance claims with State National, Lenders Protection, and members' insurance providers when necessary.
• Ensure compliance with Westmark policies and relevant regulations, including the Fair Debt Collections Act, Bankruptcy, and Privacy Act.
• Support other Member Resolution Representatives in their collection efforts as needed.
• Serve as back-up for the Member Resolution Specialist 2.
• Perform any other duties assigned by the AVP of Member Resolution and Member Resolution Center Assistant Manager.

Requirements

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Advanced secretarial/clerical skills.
• Proficiency in typing, computer data entry, and using a calculator.
• PC and word processing experience.

• Strong teamwork skills with a willingness to support the department as needed.
• Proficiency in using computers and relevant software tools.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to sit or stand for extended periods while performing office duties.
• Capability to operate standard office equipment such as computers, calculators, and telephones.
• Occasionally lift and carry up to 15 lbs., if required for departmental tasks.
