About the Role As a Silvi Materials Industrial Maintenance Mechanic you complete tasks involved in the installation, fabrication, maintenance and repair of production equipment. Responsibilities Perform maintenance and repairs on compressors, generators, fans, motors, conveyors, hydraulic and pneumatic systems and other equipment. Evaluate equipment failures for root cause and collaborate with managers and coworkers on improvements. Install modifications to equipment as instructed by manager. Follow PM schedules and procedures, recording all relevant information. Properly balance systems and rigs for dismantling of mechanical equipment. Weld metal parts together or repair broken/cracked parts. Overhaul equipment and install new bearings, gears, valves, seals, linkages and other parts as required. Lubricate, clean, and service equipment. Obtain, store, record, safeguard and properly use equipment, materials and supplies. Maintain a safe, clean working area. Balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or drive a vehicle as needed. Qualifications At least 5 years similar work experience. Graduation from a technical or trade school preferred but not required. Lift 50 pounds regularly and up to 100 pounds on occasion. Use one or two hands to grasp, move or assemble objects. Stand for long periods of time. Kneel, stoop, crouch, bend, stretch, twist or crawl. Hear sounds and recognize differences. See details of objects less than a few feet away. See differences between colors, shades, brightness. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Familiarity with Windows basic applications and Internet. Basic computer skills. Working knowledge of plant maintenance procedures. Working Conditions Able to work extended hours as needed. Continuous exposure to extreme heat, cold, noise and outdoor work. Must wear protective equipment while at the location. Physical Requirements Requires stationary position, traverse, move, transport, and ability to operate, activate, use, prepare, inspect, place, detect or position equipment. Must work at heights; climb stairs, ladders, and silos. Exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or negligible force frequently. Concrete chipping, shoveling, sweeping and greasing of plant equipment. Communicate with employees and other individuals safely within office and plant environments.
