Reference: 626338Posted: 2026-09-08Location: boston, MassachusettsCompany: Planet Pharma GroupContact: ApplicationsEmail: View email address on job-api.jobget.com ResponsibilitiesProgram Development (Primary Focus)Build and scale a new LC/MS service capability, including:Designing service workflows and operational modelsDefining parts inventory and supply strategiesCreating SOPs, work instructions, and technical documentationEstablishing platform coverage strategy (e.g., SCIEX, Agilent, Waters, Thermo)Technical ExecutionServe as the highest-level technical escalation point for LC/MS instrumentationPerform advanced diagnostics, troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenanceLead service delivery across LC/MS, LC, and associated analytical platformsSupport multi-vendor systems, including single quadrupole and triple quadrupole mass spectrometersTraining & MentorshipTrain and mentor internal engineering teams as the service function expandsPartner with technical training leadership to build standardized training programsSupport ongoing capability development across the organizationClient EngagementAct as the technical expert and client-facing representative for service capabilitiesSupport business development efforts, including technical presentations and solution discussionsBuild strong relationships with customer stakeholders and end usersOperational & Continuous ImprovementLead escalation resolution and contribute to service quality improvementsSupport workflow optimization, SOP development, and regulatory compliance activitiesContribute to pricing strategy insights based on technical complexity and service scopeRequired QualificationsExperience7+ years of experience supporting and repairing life science instrumentationStrong focus on chromatography and mass spectrometry systems3+ years of experience in GxP-regulated environmentsHands-on experience with:LC/MS instrumentation (OEM background strongly preferred)Mechanical troubleshooting, repair, and hardware diagnosticsLC and/or GC systemsTechnical ExpertiseDeep knowledge of:HPLC/UPLC, IC, SFCGC, GC/MS, LC/MSSingle and triple quadrupole mass spectrometersExperience across multi-vendor platformsStrong troubleshooting and diagnostics capabilities across complex analytical systemsExperience with GxP validation, equipment qualification, and SOP developmentCore SkillsAbility to design and implement service processes independentlyStrong communication skills, with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholdersProven ability to lead escalations, mentor engineers, and optimize workflowsHigh attention to detail and documentation accuracyPreferred QualificationsDegree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Biomedical, or related field) strongly preferredChemistry degree acceptable with demonstrated mechanical aptitudePrior experience in OEM service organizationsExperience mentoring or training junior engineersTechnology ExperienceHPLC / UPLC, IC, SFCGC, GC/MS, LC/MSSingle and triple quadrupole MS systemsGeneral lab equipment (balances, centrifuges, incubators, freezers, LN? storage, water systems, etc.)
