Responsibilities Standards of Practice: RN practice is guided by ANA Scope and Standards of Practice (2015). This includes assessment, diagnosis, outcome identification, planning, implementation, evaluation, coordination of care, health teaching, promotion, and evaluation of outcomes. Standards of Professional Performance: RN is expected to engage in professional role activities such as ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence‑based practice, quality of practice, professional practice evaluation, resource utilization and environmental health. The RN is accountable for their professional actions to themselves, their healthcare consumers, their peers and society. Qualifications Education: Graduate from an accredited school of nursing. BSN preferred. All newly hired registered nurses must have current BCLS certification or obtain it within one month of hire. Experience: Registered Nurse foundational role. All RNs are encouraged to advance through the SPIRE clinical advancement program. Preferred experience in psychiatry; open to new graduates with an interest or related role experience. Licensure: Licensed and currently registered nurse in the State of Connecticut. Clinical specialty certification highly encouraged. Special Skills: Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills. Ability to manage multiple patients and coordinate with interdisciplinary teams. Physical Demand: Requires prolonged standing/walking, use of sight, hearing, touch. Exposure to infectious diseases, physical, mental, emotional illness, end‑of‑life care, moderate stress and risk of injury. Ability to assist patients ranging from 5 to 300 pounds.
