Dental Hygienist - Part-time

Dental Hygiene ServicesThis position will provide dental hygiene services to CVTC Dental Clinic patients.Responsibilities:Demonstrate commitment to customer service standards.Provide health education to improve and maintain oral health of patients.Assess dental condition and needs of patient; use patient screening procedures, to include medical history review, dental charting, and periodontal charting; take and record patient vital signs.Assess treatment plan and dental hygiene diagnosis.Provide current methods of dental hygiene care to patients.Startup clinic in the morning and shut down at night.Work collaboratively with all staff members to coordinate scheduling for procedures and optimize communication with dentists, staff, faculty, labs, etc.Inform patients of office policies and procedures.Monitor inventory control.Maintain equipment used to provide dental hygiene care.Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Maintain flexibility with scheduling and operations.Possess and maintain working knowledge of Wisconsin Medical Assistance and be able to complete Medical Assistance paperwork for billing.Strong clinical and patient management skills.Current knowledge of periodontal classifications.Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage time in order to maintain a productive schedule.Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and efficiently.Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a team and students in an educational setting.Ability to adhere to all safety requirements; OSHA, Blood Borne Pathogen, and current infection control training.Ability to model integrity through self-awareness, personal accountability, ethical behavior, quality standards, and sustainable practices.Ability to think critically by applying problem solving practices, acquiring relevant information, using technology and other resources appropriately, and evaluating alternatives.Ability to communicate effectively by speaking and writing clearly, concisely, and professionally; practicing active listening; reading critically and adapting communication for audience.Ability to recognize personal biases, adapt to different cultural situations, and demonstrate a commitment to respectful interactions with persons of various ethnic, cultural, socio-economic, or educational backgrounds.Intermediate knowledge of and skills with technology including software programs for communication, data collection, and decision making including, but not limited to, Office 365 Suite.QualificationsGraduate of an accredited dental hygiene program required.Minimum of one year of recent clinical experience as a dental hygienist required.Experience with Patterson Eaglesoft dental software system preferred.Bilingual in Hmong or Spanish preferred.Current license to practice dental hygiene in the State of Wisconsin required.Current CPR certification required.Local anesthetic certification or licensure required.In evaluating candidates for this position, the College may consider a combination of education, training, and experience which provides the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities to perform duties of position.CVTC reserves the right to limit applicant consideration from specific geographic regions when differences in state-level policies, laws, or regulatory frameworks present conflicts with institutional standards and/or fiduciary responsibilities.
