Registered Nurse Med Surg

Mission Health, based in Asheville, NC, is seeking a compassionate and highly motivated Registered Nurse for our Medical-Surgical unit within our Healthcare & Medical Services department. As a Med Surg RN, you will provide direct, evidence-based nursing care to a diverse adult patient population with a wide range of acute and chronic medical conditions and post-surgical needs. In this role, you will conduct comprehensive patient assessments, develop and implement individualized care plans, administer medications and treatments safely, and closely monitor patient status, intervening promptly and appropriately when changes occur. You will collaborate closely with physicians, advanced practice providers, therapists, case managers, and support staff to coordinate care, facilitate safe discharges, and ensure continuity across the care continuum. Using strong clinical judgment, you will prioritize multiple patient needs in a fast-paced environment, perform and interpret routine patient monitoring (vital signs, intake and output, pain assessments, and lab results), and accurately document all care in the electronic health record in accordance with hospital and regulatory standards. You will educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, and self-care strategies, supporting them in understanding and participating in their care.
