Description

American Traveler seeks a Surgical Technologist with at least 1 year of experience to scrub cases across multiple surgical specialties in a busy operating room.

Details

• 10-hour day shift schedule starting at 0600, 40 hours per week
• 5 operating rooms with 13-15 cases performed per day
• Case types include general surgery, orthopedic total joints and sports medicine, podiatry, ophthalmology cataracts, GYN, urology, and OB C-sections
• On-call responsibilities including one weekday per week and weekend rotation
• Weekend rotation every 5th weekend (Saturday and Sunday) and every 10th weekend for second scrub duties (8a-5p)
• On-call coverage required for emergent cases on holidays
• No floating requirements
• Epic EMR, Alaris IV pumps, and Omnicell medication dispensing system used

Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year of core surgical technology experience within the specialty area, with recent experience in the last year
• BLS certification required
• Active license required if applicable
• Experience with Epic EMR required
• Skills in opening cases and setting up/maintaining sterile OR fields for total joints, C-sections, laparoscopic, cataract, GYN, and urology procedures
• At least one professional reference dated within the past year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN
• Last 4 digits of SSN and full date of birth required for consideration
• Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be considered
• Returning employees must have been separated from the facility for at least 1 year following a permanent position

Additional Information

• Open and set up sterile surgical cases across multiple service lines including orthopedics, OB, laparoscopic, GYN, and urology
• Work alongside a full support team including charge nurse, respiratory therapist, hospitalist, anesthesia/CRNA, and transport/CNA staff
• One week of orientation provided
• Green scrubs provided by facility
• Employee parking available in the lot at the front of the main entrance
• Facility closes for holidays with on-call coverage for emergent cases only
• Clinical interview with the unit manager required as final step
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
