Assistant Project Manager/ Project Engineer (Commercial Construction)If you're the type of person who likes solving problems, staying organized, and making sure nothing falls through the cracks, we want to talk to you.

At BF Construction, we're looking for someone who wants to become a Project Manager—not someone looking for a clerical or administrative position.

This role is designed for someone who already understands construction fundamentals and wants to learn how successful commercial construction projects are planned, scheduled, coordinated, and executed.

You'll work directly with Project Managers, Superintendents, and Leadership to help keep projects organized and moving forward. You'll be involved in scheduling, procurement, subcontractor coordination, documentation, project tracking, field communication, and problem-solving.

This is a hands-on construction management role that provides a clear path into Project Management.

We want someone who takes ownership, follows through, asks good questions, and helps solve problems before they become emergencies.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Support commercial construction projects from kickoff through closeout
• Assist with project planning, scheduling, and coordination
• Participate in weekly planning and project meetings
• Track RFIs, submittals, procurement, and project action items
• Review drawings, specifications, and Bluebeam markups
• Assist with subcontractor and vendor coordination
• Support material procurement and delivery tracking
• Maintain communication between field and office teams
• Review SiteCam photos and field documentation
• Update project schedules and project tracking systems
• Identify project risks, missing information, and coordination issues
• Follow through on open items until they are completed
• Help Project Managers and Superintendents keep projects moving forward

WHAT THIS ROLE IS NOT

• This is not a clerical or administrative position
• This is not simply updating spreadsheets and filing paperwork
• This is not a passive support role
• This is not a position where someone else solves all the problems

WHAT YOU BRING

• 2–5 years of commercial construction experience
• Ability to read plans and construction documents
• Ability to mark up plans in Bluebeam
• Understanding of construction sequencing and project coordination
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
• Strong communication and follow-through
• Experience with Smartsheet, or similar software is a plus
• Positive attitude and willingness to take ownership

HARD REQUIREMENTIf you do not have commercial construction experience or the ability to read construction plans, this is not the right role.
