Setnix, a Setna iO company, is an FAA-, EASA-, and UK CAA-certified repair station delivering high-quality maintenance, repair, and overhaul solutions for the aviation and aerospace industry. Based in Tempe, Arizona, Setnix specializes in APU and main engine teardown, inspection, testing, repair, overhaul, and certification of aircraft and engine components.

We are seeking a Material Controller to support our engine teardown and production operations. This position is responsible for accurately identifying, cataloging, photographing, and documenting engine components removed during teardown while maintaining accurate component identification and traceability.

The ideal candidate is highly detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable working with aircraft engine components, technical documentation, part numbers, and serial numbers in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements:

Key Responsibilities

• Identify, catalog, and manifest engine components removed during teardown.
• Accurately document part numbers (P/N), serial numbers (S/N), quantities, condition, and component identification.
• Take clear and accurate photographs of components and parts for cataloging, identification, and documentation purposes.
• Ensure photographs are properly associated with the correct component and corresponding part and serial number information.
• Maintain accurate traceability of serialized and life-limited components throughout the teardown and inspection process.
• Verify component documentation and physical identification against work orders, engine records, tags, and applicable technical data.
• Inspect components for visible damage, wear, defects, and discrepancies and promptly report findings for appropriate disposition.
• Prepare components for inspection, repair, overhaul, storage, or further processing while maintaining proper identification and documentation.
• Perform multiple levels of verification to minimize cataloging and manifesting errors and ensure accurate component records.
• Identify and report discrepancies involving part numbers, serial numbers, quantities, documentation, or component condition.
• Coordinate with Inspection, Quality, Production, and management to resolve component or documentation discrepancies.
• Maintain accurate and organized records throughout the cataloging process.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
• Support continuous improvement efforts to increase teardown efficiency, improve manifest accuracy, reduce errors, and meet production requirements.

Qualifications

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to accurately read and record part numbers, serial numbers, quantities, and other component information.
• Strong organizational and documentation skills.
• Ability to identify and communicate discrepancies.
• Ability to follow established procedures and work instructions.
• Comfortable working with aircraft and engine components in a production environment.
• Basic computer skills and ability to enter information accurately into company systems.
• Ability to work effectively with Production, Inspection, Quality, and other departments.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to safely lift and carry up to 30 lbs.
• Ability to stand and move throughout the work area for extended periods.
• Ability to bend, reach, and handle aircraft and engine components as required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Preferred aviation, aerospace, or MRO experience.
• Experience with aircraft engine teardown, component cataloging, manifesting, inventory, or parts identification.
• Familiarity with aircraft engine components, APUs, or main engines.
• Experience working with work orders, component tags, technical records, or aviation documentation.
• Knowledge of aviation component traceability and documentation requirements.
• Strong willingness to learn and take on new responsibilities.
