With more than 10,000 square feet of flexible indoor and outdoor event space, including a waterfront lawn, Marina del Rey Hotel is a popular setting for weddings, meetings, and social gatherings.The RoleAs a Cook II, you'll bring experience and confidence to the kitchen, preparing and cooking food to recipe, quality, presentation, and food safety standards. You'll work independently within established procedures, maintain a clean and organized station, and help ensure every dish leaving the kitchen meets our standards. You will:Prepare ingredients by washing, peeling, chopping, portioning, weighing, and measuringPrepare and cook food according to recipes, preparation checklists, and presentation standardsPrepare hot and cold food items and ensure proper portions and presentationOperate commercial kitchen equipment including ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryersMonitor food quality, cooking times, and temperatures throughout preparationTest food and maintain required food and temperature logs to ensure food safety standards are metSet up, maintain, and break down your workstation efficientlyKeep kitchen work areas, tools, knives, and equipment clean and sanitizedUse proper protective equipment and follow safe food handling and kitchen practicesCheck food and equipment temperatures and address issues as neededMaintain consistency and quality during busy service periodsCommunicate clearly with the kitchen team and managementAnticipate kitchen needs and help keep service moving efficientlySupport other team members and departments as neededWhat Success Looks LikeYou consistently prepare high-quality food safely, efficiently, and according to established standards.
