System Administrator (Secret Clearance Required)

Location: Lexington Park, MD

Security Clearance Requirement: Active Secret with the ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance.

What You'll Do:

As a System Administrator, you'll join a top-notch team in support of NAVAIR's new Simulators at Sea (View email address on click.appcast.io) system. This system increases aviator readiness and is the first integrated training capability for an air wing to deploy on a Navy carrier. Get in on the ground floor of an exciting DoD initiative!


Key Responsibilities:

• Plan, test, and implement system upgrades to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
• Integrate new software applications within complex, mission-critical environments.
• Apply and maintain operating system security configurations in alignment with DISA STIG requirements.
• Identify and resolve system flaws, implementing technical controls to strengthen cybersecurity.
• Conduct vulnerability scans and assessments to safeguard systems from potential threats.
• Troubleshoot and resolve software issues within integrated environments to maintain seamless operations.
• This position will require approximately 25% annual travel, both CONUS and OCONUS. Some trips may be 2-3 weeks in duration.

Requirements

What You'll Bring:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field is required. Additional years of experience as an IT technician supporting DoD classified networks may be considered in lieu of a degree.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Systems Administrator.
• Proficiency with Windows operating systems is required; experience with Linux is a plus.
• Experience managing DoD Host Based Security Systems (HBSS) is preferred.
• Strong working knowledge of vCenter/VMware is required.
• Demonstrated experience managing Domain Name System (DNS) performance and reliability.
• Proven experience implementing and maintaining local and group policies.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Active Directory (AD) domain controller servers for managing authentication, authorization, and network resources.
• Knowledge of log aggregation and analysis across multiple sources.
• Familiarity with Windows PowerShell is preferred.
• Physical requirements: This position will require the ability to successfully navigate shipboard stairwells and small, cramped spaces. May also require the ability to lift 25 pounds.

Certification Requirements:


Qualified candidates must hold one of the following certifications: Security+, CySA+, GSEC, or CCNA Security, and an OS certification (e.g., Linux or Windows). Please upload copies of your relevant industry certifications.

Security Clearance Requirement:

• This position requires U.S. citizenship and an active DoD Secret clearance with TS eligibility. Selected candidate will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

Salary Range:

• The anticipated annual salary range for this position is $120,000 - $139,000, commensurate with an individual's experience, qualifications, and skill set. ASEC is committed to providing fair and equitable compensation. The low end of this salary range is accounting for a candidate that meets or exceeds all of the listed requirements.
