Data Engineer II

Position Overview A Data Engineer at Lennar will analyze large volumes of business data, develop metrics and business cases, and automate and scale analysis to support decision‑making across product, engineering, and business intelligence teams. Responsibilities Design, implement and support an analytical data infrastructure and work with Modern Data Warehouse concepts. Build and maintain efficient, scalable data pipelines and ETL processes to process structured and unstructured data. Optimize data storage and retrieval methods for performance, scalability, and cost‑efficiency. Manage AWS resources including EC2, S3, Glue, Lambda, API’s, IAM, CloudWatch, etc. Interface with other technology teams to extract, transform, and load data from a variety of sources using SQL and AWS big data technologies. Explore and learn the latest AWS technologies and provide new capabilities. Collaborate with Data Scientists and Business Intelligence Engineers to adopt best practices in reporting and analysis. Improve reporting and analysis processes; automate or simplify self‑service support for customers. Maintain internal reporting platforms/tools, including troubleshooting and development. Work with Engineering partners to build and implement BI infrastructure, including data warehousing, reporting and analytics platforms. Contribute to the development of BI tools, culture and impact. Write advanced SQL queries and Python code to develop solutions. Work with Snowflake for data warehousing. Align AI initiatives with organizational goals and understanding of AI concepts. Maintain CI/CD pipelines; deploy as needed. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. 3‑5 years of experience in data engineering or a related role, with success in delivering data solutions. Experience with AWS Glue, Lambda, S3, EC2, CloudWatch, CloudTrail. Proficiency in dbt, Snowflake, SQL, Python, Qlik. Strong SQL skills, including query optimization and performance tuning. Experience with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB, Cassandra, or DynamoDB. Programming skills in Python, Java, or Scala; experience with Apache Spark, Hadoop, or similar data processing frameworks. Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and data services (AWS Redshift, Azure Synapse, Google BigQuery). Knowledge of big data technologies, including Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, and HBase. Familiarity with data orchestration tools such as Apache Airflow and data versioning/testing tools such as DVC, dbt. Understanding of data security practices, encryption, access controls, and data masking. Additional Information Physical & Office/Site Presence Requirements: Regular, in‑person attendance at the Lennar office during regular work hours is essential. This is a primarily sedentary office position requiring the ability to operate computer equipment, speak, hear, bend, stoop, reach, lift, and move up to 25 lbs. Finger dexterity is necessary.
