Physical Security Engineer (Video Surveillance/Access Control/Integration) Overview Collaborates with internal sales, estimation, engineering and field technicians to ensure solutions are effectively communicated, implemented within budget, and achieve optimal client satisfaction. Position is on‑site in San Diego, CA. Compensation: $90,000–$130,000/yr (DOE) with a comprehensive benefits package. Major Responsibilities Communicate best practices and methods for programming and installing hardware and applications to the physical security team. Coordinate with sales, sales support, and service resources to review solution designs and align with customer business and bid requirements. Participate in technical trainings on the latest physical security updates and innovations. Determine labor, material, and time requirements by reviewing proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents. Adapt solutions based on input from customer stakeholders. Conduct pre‑engineering site walks to support estimation. Travel to job sites for post‑engineering tasks, review proposed solutions with stakeholders, and verify bill of materials. Provide technical documentation and coordinate with CAD department for project close‑out. Support field technicians by enhancing product knowledge. Assist with commissioning of systems and train end users. Build collaborative relationships with other departments within the organization. Required Qualifications High school diploma or GED. Active industry certifications. Minimum five years of engineering experience with large/strategic B2B customers for video surveillance software (e.g., Qognify Ocularis, Milestone Xprotect, Avigilon ACC, Wisenet Wave, Verkada, Eagle Eye Cloud VMS), video surveillance hardware (cameras such as Axis, Hanwha, Avigilon, Bosch, Verkada, Eagle Eye; servers such as Seneca/DELL, HPE, Cisco UCS), SALTO, Keyscan, Axis/2N, Aiphone, network and data center infrastructure (Microsoft Windows Server, VMware vSphere, Cisco, Aruba Switches). High‑level understanding of data center virtualization and Windows system administration. Strong knowledge of low‑voltage systems and communication protocols. Project coordination and management skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel. Self‑motivated with excellent organizational, time‑management, and follow‑up skills.
