Lead Software Engineer Java

Salary: $61,000 - 101,000 per year Requirements:

• Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts, plus 5+ years of applied experience
• Hands-on experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
• Advanced proficiency in Java, Spring Boot, and microservice architecture
• Experience working with Python
• Proven experience leading effective use of enterprise-approved AI-assisted software development tools in the workplace for coding, code review, test acceleration, and troubleshooting, with clear expectations for validating outputs for correctness, performance, and security
• Strong understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity, secure handling of inputs and outputs, and resiliency and security expectations, with experience coaching senior engineers and leads on compliant usage patterns and controls
• Ability to solve design and functionality issues independently with minimal oversight
• Preferred: practical cloud-native experience
• Preferred: strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills

• Provide technical direction and guidance to support the business, technical teams, contractors, and vendors
• Develop secure, high-quality production code and review and debug code written by others
• Drive adoption and governance of approved AI-assisted engineering practices across teams to improve code quality, delivery speed, and operational outcomes
• Apply knowledge of software development life cycle toolchain tools, including approved AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, to increase the value of automation at scale
• Influence product design, application functionality, and technical operations and processes
• Serve as a subject matter expert in one or more areas of focus
• Contribute actively to the engineering community as an advocate for firmwide software development life cycle frameworks, tools, and practices
