PGS Worldwide is seeking a Mechanical Engineer in Marietta, GA for a one year contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company. This onsite position supports Flight Test Instrumentation, including instrumentation mechanical design, aircraft data acquisition systems, hardware design, system integration, and mechanical drawings for C-130 aircraft. The pay range for this position is $26-$80 per hour.
Required Skills• Minimum of 5 years of experience in part design, assembly design, and drawing using CATIA V5.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience with CADAM Computer Drafting (CCD) or other 2D drafting software.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience with test instrumentation, including strain gages, pressure transducers, accelerometers, thermocouples, or similar instrumentation.
• Must be able to obtain a DoD Security clearance at a minimum level of Secret. Preferred Skills
• Minimum of 2 years of experience with C-130 or other aircraft structural design.
• Experience working in a machine shop with fabrication mechanics.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience with CAD Datanet.
• DoD Security clearance at the Secret level or higher. What You'll Do
• Design, develop, document, and support the installation and operation of data acquisition systems for aircraft flight testing.
• Draft mechanical drawings supporting C-130 aircraft.
• Perform mechanical and hardware design and system integration.
• Develop instrumentation designs involving strain gages, thermocouples, pressure transducers, accelerometers, displacement transducers, synchros, microphones, calibration methods, and aircraft test instrumentation racks.
• Coordinate with Electrical Instrumentation and Systems Engineers on data acquisition solutions.
• Work with union-represented technicians and mechanics to fabricate and install instrumentation designs.
• Implement mechanical designs using CATIA V5 and CCD (CADAM Computer Drafting).
