Associate Planner

Position Summary: We are seeking an analytical and detail-oriented Associate Planner to join our French Connection team. This role will support planning and analysis across key wholesale accounts, providing actionable sales insights and assisting with assortment, allocation, forecasting, and Open-to-Buy strategies. The ideal candidate has strong retail math and analytical skills, advanced Excel capabilities, and the ability to translate sales and inventory data into clear business recommendations in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities: Generate weekly selling reports for major wholesale accounts. Analyze sales performance, inventory levels, and trends across key categories and classifications to identify opportunities and risks. Assist in preparing for seasonal market appointments with wholesale customers, including relevant sales analysis and reporting. Create ad hoc reports and analyses to support evolving business needs. Support the Planner in developing ladder plans, assortment strategies, and allocation strategies that achieve sales and profitability objectives. Conduct product and store-level reviews and analysis to identify developing trends and opportunities to drive sales and profitability. Recommend adjustments to future forecasts based on sales performance, inventory levels, and business trends. Analyze sales unit performance and incorporate findings into future planning and merchandising decisions. Provide analytical support and business insights to inform merchandise strategies. Apply retail math and Open-to-Buy analysis to support inventory management and minimize gross margin assistance by account. Monitor sales trends to forecast potential margin deficiencies and support the development of mid-season corrective actions. Assist in generating door analysis reports to monitor top- and bottom-performing locations across major accounts. Partner cross-functionally to communicate relevant sales, inventory, and planning insights. Contribute to a collaborative team environment and support additional Planning initiatives as needed. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree required; concentration in Fashion Business Management, Mathematics, Economics, Business, or a related field preferred. Previous experience in Planning, Allocation, Merchandising, Buying, or retail analytics preferred. Strong understanding of retail math and Open-to-Buy analysis. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with the ability to build sales analytics reports and clear customer recaps. Proficiency across Microsoft Office applications. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with sound business acumen. Ability to analyze sales, inventory, margin, and store-level performance. Excellent organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and perform effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment. Ability to work independently while contributing effectively as part of a collaborative team.
