Material Handling Project Manager

Objective CEC Controls is looking for a project manager who can oversee and implement baggage and package handling control systems in North America. Strong project management expertise with technical knowledge of automated material handling systems (conveyors, sorters, scanners, PLC‑controlled baggage/package handling systems). Responsibilities Perform management & engineering functions to design and implement baggage & material handling control systems, requirements which will include: Review specifications and standard practices Support estimating effortsFollow internal and customer standards as required Assisting in installation oversight Manage engineering team Requirements Direct experience in baggage handling systems (BHS), Package/parcel sortation, or automated material handling/conveyor systems preferred. 5-10+ years in project management, with increasing responsibility and project scale (typically $5M-$20M projects). Background in engineering, installation, commissioning, testing, or controls integration for logistics/automation projects (at least 5 years leadership experience managing cross‑functional teams in many postings). Proven track record managing subcontractors, consultants, vendors, and multidisciplinary teams (mechanical, electrical, software/controls). Airport/aviation or large‑scale logistics facility experience is a strong plus (especially for baggage roles). Education & Certifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, Controls, or related technical field) or equivalent practical experience; advanced degree preferred in some roles. PMP (Project Management Professional) certification strongly preferred or required (or must be obtained within first year). PE (Professional Engineer) or EIT license preferred but not required. OSHA, NEC (National Electrical Code), or other safety/compliance training relevant to industrial electrical systems.
