Compensation Starting Salary: $18.59 hourly; $38,667 annually Employment Details FLSA: Non-Exempt Overview We are an agency committed to innovative behavioral health services in trauma‑informed care that promote healing and recovery to instill a sense of empowerment and foster a lifelong sense of resilience. General Description The purpose of this job is to manage a caseload and to ensure services are delivered according to the Outpatient Biopsychosocial Intervention program. This scope of work includes best practice models developed in the Learning Collaborative and strategies that aim to expand access to outpatient mental health services for individuals with IDD and mental health needs. The services are designed for children and adults who have IDD or who are presumed to have IDD and who also have a co‑occurring mental health condition, substance use disorder, or behavior support needs. This class works under close to general supervision according to set procedures but determines how or when to complete tasks. Duties and Responsibilities Complete biopsychosocial assessment to identify client domains of need and develop a recovery-focused, strength-based treatment plan that is person‑centered and includes the individual’s vulnerabilities and triggers from a biopsychosocial perspective. Track and monitor treatment goals to assist the client in completing each goal made on their person-centered recovery plan. Provide education and training opportunities to the community, and stakeholders, also collect feedback via post training survey. Provide appropriate referrals to specialized mental and physical health services, behavior supports, and peer supports; consultations as appropriate with but not limited to nursing, specialized medical services clinicians, psychiatrist, psychologist, licensed masters or clinical social worker, licensed professional counselor, board certified behavior analyst, and other specialized therapy clinicians; and assistance with medication management, including assisting with appointments and referrals to specialty services. Provide at least one skills training opportunity monthly to the client, support system, or both to address need(s) identified in Biopsychosocial Assessment. Performs other duties as assigned. Effectively completes necessary monthly encounters with all clients on assigned caseload and utilizes the tracking tools necessary to maintain caseload, provide quality client care, meet performance targets, and ensure high-quality, accurate, and timely submission of all documentation. Demonstrates the ability to understand and effectively apply all rules and regulations pertinent to the Medicaid waiver or non-waiver programs, including proper completion of all documentation. Shows dedication to ethical judgment and maintains compliance with all training requirements to effectively accomplish position duties and meet performance outcomes and targets. Completes all program required forms in accordance with HHSC and internal timeframes and ensures all progress notes are entered within 48 hours at a rate of 100%. Effectively organizes and facilitates timely meetings with clients, LARs, interdisciplinary teams to engage in their client’s service planning, including reviewing, assessing, and monitoring services. Attends all team and individual meetings as required by supervisor and maintains open communication regarding assigned caseload or such matters that affect the delivery of services to all clients. Demonstrates the ability to organize and structure days and times with effective time management skills to successfully fulfill all essential duties. Maintains flexibility and keen judgment to facilitate effective crisis prevention and management, linking and assisting the clients to secure appropriate and accessible services and supports. Education and Experience Requirements Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social Sciences or related behavioral field, a qualified intellectual disability professional as defined in 42 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR); and at least two years of experience working with individuals with IDD who have mental health and behavior support needs or linking people with IDD to mental health supports, in addition to the one year of required experience of a qualified intellectual disability professional described in 42 CFR. Experience with trauma-informed services; cognitive behavioral therapies, including Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT); and motivational therapies, preferred. Required Knowledge and Abilities Knowledge of trauma-informed theories, principals, and practices (includes multi-faceted understanding of concepts such as community trauma, intergenerational and historical trauma, parallel processes, and universal precautions), preferred. Physical Demands Performs sedentary work that involves walking or standing some of the time and involves exerting up to 10 pounds of force on a regular and recurring basis or sustained keyboard operations. Must possess and maintain a valid state Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record. Must be able to pass TB, criminal background and drug screen.
