Production Planner

ZimZee Recruiting is looking for a Production Planner position located in Wichita, KS. The Planner will develop, coordinate, and optimize production schedules that ensure efficient manufacturing operations, on-time customer deliveries, and appropriate inventory levels. This role is responsible for balancing production capacity, material availability, and customer demand while working cross-functionally with Operations, Purchasing, Engineering, and Sales. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented planner with strong analytical skills, experience in manufacturing environments, and the ability to proactively identify process improvements and cost-saving opportunities.

Skills and Requirements

• Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Operations Management, or a related field
• Minimum 5 years of manufacturing planning, production scheduling, or supply chain planning experience
• Strong experience with Material Requirements Planning (MRP) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems
• Proven ability to develop and manage production schedules in a manufacturing environment
• Knowledge of inventory management, capacity planning, and demand forecasting principles
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills
• Excellent organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail
• Ability to prioritize multiple projects and adapt to changing production requirements

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, analyze, and maintain production schedules based on customer demand, sales forecasts, inventory targets, and production capacity
• Review customer orders and sales requirements to determine production feasibility and ensure on-time delivery commitments
• Create and manage production orders within the ERP/MRP system to support customer and inventory requirements
• Coordinate with Purchasing, Operations, Engineering, and Sales to ensure material availability and efficient production flow
• Monitor inventory levels and production performance, making schedule adjustments to address shortages, bottlenecks, and changing priorities
