CA State Certified Electrician - BESS

About the Role

We are seeking a hands-on Field Electrician to support prototype buildouts, customer deployments, fleet servicing, and facility operations for our Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) and mobile power platforms. This role blends field work with collaboration at our headquarters and is ideal for electricians who enjoy working on evolving systems in a fast‑paced, startup environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, terminate, test, and commission BESS and mobile power conveyance systems during prototypes and customer deployments.

• Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repairs on low‑ and medium‑voltage systems.

• Ensure all work complies with NFPA 70 (NEC), OSHA electrical safety standards, and permitting/inspection requirements.

• Layout and wire panels, conduit, interconnects, and power infrastructure for deployed systems, prototypes, and facilities.

• Safely execute energized and de‑energized work using proper PPE, lockout/tagout, and hazard analysis procedures.

• Collaborate closely with engineering and operations teams on system iterations and continuous improvement initiatives.

• Maintain accurate records of inspections, issues, repairs, and parts usage.

Required Qualifications

• Licensed Electrician (Journeyman or higher) or equivalent industrial/commercial electrical experience.

• 3+ years of experience working with power systems (energy storage or mobile power equipment preferred).

• Strong working knowledge of NEC, OSHA electrical safety, and inspection coordination.

• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and construction drawings.

• Proficiency with electrical test equipment (multimeter, insulation tester, clamp meter, etc.).

• Willingness to travel up to 50%.

• Valid California driver’s license.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with inverters, DC infrastructure, generators, UPS, or ATS systems.

• Background working with mobile or modular power platforms (skid‑ or trailer‑mounted).

• Commissioning and servicing of energy storage or renewable energy systems.

• Knowledge of control wiring, sensors, and instrumentation.

• Forklift certification (or willingness to obtain).

• C‑10 contractor’s license and/or Class A driver’s license.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs.

• Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and work in hands‑on environments for extended periods.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Long Beach, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $55.00 - $60.00/hr.
