BioPhase Solutions specializes in recruiting top talented professionals for Southern California's Scientific community. We are currently looking for a Staff Accountant to work for a Greater Orange County area biotechnology company.

Salary: $67-80k+/year depending on experience

Responsibilities:

• Assist in maintaining the general ledger by preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, and ensuring all financial transactions are recorded accurately.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
• Manage accounts payable and receivable processes, including invoicing, payment processing, and reconciling customer and vendor accounts.
• Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts, providing analysis and insights to support financial planning and decision-making.
• Prepare documentation and provide support during internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
• Perform regular bank and account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records.
• Monitor and analyze expenses to ensure they are in line with budgeted amounts, identifying areas for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
• Assist in the preparation and filing of tax returns, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal tax regulations.

Experience/Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
• 2-3+ years of experience in a similar accounting role, with a strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
• Proficiency in accounting software (such as QuickBooks, SAP, or Oracle) and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex financial information clearly and concisely.
• Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
