Physical Therapist Assistant

Description Working under the supervision of a Physical Therapist (PT), The Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA), helps patients improve their mobility and functional abilities, by assisting with the implementation of treatment plans, instructing patients in exercises, helping monitor progress, and reporting back to the supervising PT. PTA’s should be familiar and experienced in techniques like massage, gait training, and therapeutic exercises to help patients recover from injuries or manage chronic conditions. Signing Bonus Available Key Responsibilities: Implement Treatment Plans Under the direction of a physical therapist, carry out specific treatment interventions for patients. Instruct and Supervise Exercises Guide patients through prescribed exercises, ensuring proper form and safety. Monitor Patient Progress Observe patients during treatment, document responses, and report any changes or concerns to the PT. Assist with Therapeutic Activities Assist with gait training, balance exercises, functional mobility training and other exercises as directed by the PT Use Therapeutic Modalities Utilize modalities such as heat, cold, or electrical stimulation as directed by the PT. Educate Patients and Families Provide guidance on home exercise programs, pain management strategies, and injury prevention. Maintain Treatment Area Clean and organize the therapy area, and prepare equipment for each session. Document Patient Care Record patient information, treatment details, and progress in patient charts. Communicate with the Healthcare Team Collaborate with the PT, other healthcare professionals, and sometimes patients' families to ensure optimal care. Requirements This position requires at least 3 years prior experience in a Physical Therapist Assistant role Excellent organization and communication skills required. Proven history of ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment; excellent critical thinking skills, ability to work independently, and manage time effectively. Demonstrated problem solving and workflow management skills required. Must be energetic, quality driven and have proven ability to be productive member of a cohesive team of peers dedicated to providing optimum patient care.
