We’re defining the future of mobility with safe, sustainable solutions that move people, businesses, and communities forward.An Avis General Manager is responsible for overseeing the overall performance and profitability of the used vehicle sales operation, leading the sales team to meet and exceed targets. This role includes forecasting sales, managing inventory, and ensuring the team is well-trained, motivated, and knowledgeable about all vehicles. The General Manager also handles hiring, performance management, and customer issue resolution, while assisting with deal closings when needed. Additionally, they monitor sales metrics, implement marketing and promotional strategies, finalize sales and trade-in agreements, and collaborate with rental operations to support remarketing efforts, all while maintaining strong customer service and operational excellence.What you’ll do:Responsible to consistently and profitably meet used vehicle sales quotas through expert management and leadership of the sales teamForecast sales, maintain proper inventory levels in terms of amount and vehicle types, and motivate the sales teamResponsible for hiring, training, and monitoring team member performance. He/she is responsible for the resolution of customer complaints and to assist in closings when necessaryTrain the sales team on sales methodologies that support established sales targetsTrain sales team to become subject matter experts on all vehicles and vehicle specifications/features in the inventoryEstablish sales quotas for each sales representative and provide continuous feedback in order to manage to overall sales goalsContinuously monitor and adjust inventory to optimize customer choiceMeasure and report sales metrics; monitor actuals-to-planContinuously and consistently promote the dealership, its values, and its products/servicesFinalizing Purchase, Trade-in, and Sales agreements, contracts, etc.Utilizing e-commerce tools, i.e. social media, listing services, inventory systems, etc.Executing advertising and promotional plansAssisting with various Remarketing initiativesWork closely with ABG Car Rental facilitiesPerks You’ll Get:Access to Medical, Dental, Vision, Life and Disability insuranceEligible to elect other voluntary benefits including: Group Auto Insurance, Group Home Insurance, Pet Insurance, Legal Assistance, Identity Theft Protection, FSA, Accident Insurance, Critical Illness Insurance, and additional life insurance coverages401(k) Retirement Plan with company matched contributionsFull training to learn the business and enhance professional skillsEmployee discounts, including discounted prices on the purchase of Avis/Budget carsAccess to an Employee Assistance Program for services including counseling, financial and legal consultation, referrals for care service and moreWhat we’re looking for:High school diploma required, Bachelor’s degree preferredMinimum of 3 years of experience in a Retail Car Sales Management position.Valid driver’s license with a clean driving recordGeneral business knowledge to successfully operate and manage a corporate retail storeExcellent customer service skillsStrong organizational and analytical skills to track all appropriate operational measures and analyze and forecast operational performance resultsStrong communication and coaching skills. Ability to interact with both internal and external customers at all levels. Ability to manage and motivate staff in a team environmentRequires problem solving and decision-making skillsStrong understanding of marketing programs, events and promotionsMust be proficient with various computer applications including social media and mobile applicationsThe annual starting salary for this position is between $150,000 – $170,000 annually.
