Network Engineering Team Lead

Salary: $90,000 - 130,000 per year Requirements:

• 7+ years of experience in network or infrastructure engineering, including substantial work designing and supporting enterprise-scale cloud and hybrid networks.
• 2+ years leading, supervising, or mentoring network engineering teams, including performance management, work prioritization, and technical development.
• Hands-on expertise with Microsoft Azure networking, including VNets, subnets, peering, routing, load balancing, network security groups, Azure Firewall, DNS, and related services.
• Experience designing and managing hybrid cloud connectivity, including VPN, ExpressRoute, SD-WAN, and connections between cloud and on-premises environments.
• Strong knowledge of networking fundamentals and technologies such as TCP/IP, routing, switching, DNS, DHCP, firewalls, segmentation, VPNs, and load balancing.
• Experience applying network security and zero-trust principles, including segmentation, encryption, firewall policies, identity-based access, and vulnerability remediation.
• Experience with network automation and infrastructure as code using tools such as Terraform, Ansible, PowerShell, Python, or similar technologies.
• Experience with network monitoring and observability platforms, such as Elastic Observability, Azure Monitor, or comparable tools.
• Proven ability to lead incident response, troubleshoot complex network issues, conduct root-cause analysis, and drive remediation in high-availability environments.
• Experience collaborating across Cloud, DevOps, Security, and application teams, and communicating technical concepts and risks to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Experience in environments subject to security, compliance, or regulatory requirements such as SOC 2, ISO 27001, HIPAA, or PCI-DSS.
• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Lead, mentor, and develop cloud network engineers, including performance management, scheduling, and career development.
• Assign and prioritize project work, incident response, and on-call rotations; conduct one-to-one meetings and performance reviews, and support hiring and onboarding.
• Design and oversee secure, scalable network architectures, primarily in Azure, including VNets, subnets, peering, transit gateways, and load balancers.
• Manage hybrid connectivity solutions such as VPN, Direct Connect, ExpressRoute, and SD-WAN.
• Own cloud network segmentation, routing, DNS, and firewall policy design.
• Maintain network availability and performance, lead incident response and root-cause analysis for outages, and establish and monitor network SLAs and SLOs.
• Advance automation for network provisioning and configuration management, and drive implementation of Elastic Observability.
• Partner with security teams to apply network security practices, including zero trust, micro-segmentation, and encryption in transit.
• Support compliance with applicable standards, audits, and vulnerability remediation related to network infrastructure.
• Collaborate with Cloud, DevOps, Security, and application teams to support infrastructure and deployment needs.
• Act as an escalation point for complex network issues and communicate network strategy, risks, and roadmaps to IT leadership.
