Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) – Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU)
Location: Cleveland, OH
Job Type: Contract
Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: Rotating Day/Night Shift | Days: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM | Nights: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
Schedule: 3x12-hour shifts | 36 hours/week
Local Candidates Required: Yes

Pay Rate
Local: $2,450 - $2,550/week
Traveler: $2,600 - $2,700/week

Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced PICU Registered Nurse to provide specialized nursing care to critically ill pediatric patients, including patients with complex neurological conditions and epilepsy.

Required Qualifications

• Active Ohio RN license or valid compact state RN license in hand. Pending licenses are not accepted.

• Minimum 12 months of permanent experience in the specialty.

• Previous PICU experience.

• Experience providing specialized care to pediatric patients of varying ages, including patients up to 25 years old.

• Experience with epilepsy monitoring.

• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.

• Competency in ECG/EKG rhythm recognition.

• Experience with inotropes and related critical care medication management.

• Strong patient assessment, critical thinking, and emergency response skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• NIHSS certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to critically ill pediatric patients in the PICU.

• Assess, monitor, and document patients’ clinical conditions and responses to treatment.

• Provide specialized care for patients with complex medical conditions, including epilepsy and neurological concerns.

• Monitor cardiac rhythms and recognize abnormal ECG/EKG findings.

• Administer and monitor inotropes and other prescribed medications according to facility protocols.

• Collaborate with physicians and the multidisciplinary care team to develop and implement individualized care plans.

• Respond promptly to changes in patient condition and initiate appropriate nursing interventions.

• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.

• Educate patients’ families and caregivers regarding treatment plans and ongoing care as appropriate.

• Follow infection prevention standards, patient safety protocols, and hospital policies.

• Support continuity of care through effective communication and interdisciplinary collaboration.
