Job Description

The role involves implementing treatment plans tailored to the patient's learning style and therapeutic needs. You will communicate treatment goals effectively with patients and their families, taking into account their psycho-social, cultural, and spiritual needs based on the plan of care developed by the Occupational Therapist.

Key responsibilities include:

Providing therapeutic interventions for a wide range of physical and functional limitations related to musculoskeletal, neurological, cardiovascular, and developmental impairments.
Documenting patient progress using measurable and functional goals.
Maintaining patient records in compliance with hospital policy, including evaluations, re-evaluations, progress and treatment notes, charges, and discharge summaries within departmental timelines.
Assisting in adjusting schedules to accommodate changes in the departmental caseload.
Regularly meeting with the Occupational Therapist to discuss patient cases and set goals.
Contributing to departmental performance through professional development, including competency training, serving as a clinical instructor, facilitating in-service training, and mentoring new hires.
Engaging in continued professional growth by setting personal goals and participating in educational offerings, and maintaining continuing education units (CEUs) as required.
Communicating effectively with physicians, other medical professionals, and members of the interdisciplinary medical team about treatment provided, patient progress, and any complications that arise.
Utilizing appropriate health and safety equipment to ensure the safety of both patients and staff, while maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
Performing additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Certifications: Certification as an Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) required.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
Relevant state licensure required.

Health Requirements

MMR vaccination required.
Hepatitis B vaccination required.
Varicella vaccination required.
Two-step PPD or IGRA (Quantiferon/Tspot) test required.
Annual TB questionnaire may be required.
