Job Description
CCI Group is seeking qualified K-12 Educational Sign Language Interpreters to support students within Lake County Schools. This role focuses on providing communication access services in alignment with each student's IEP, 504 Plan, or documented educational needs, allowing students to engage fully in classroom instruction and school activities.
- Key Responsibilities:
- Provide professional sign language interpreting and communication access services for deaf and hard-of-hearing students in K-12 settings
- Support communication between students, teachers, peers, and school staff
- Work across instructional environments including classrooms, assemblies, small-group instruction, and school events
- Follow school schedules, district policies, and educational protocols
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional and ethical standards
Requirements:
- Fluency in American Sign Language (ASL) or other approved communication methods as required by the student
- Experience in K-12 educational settings strongly preferred
- Familiarity with classroom terminology and school environments
- Reliable, professional, and able to work on-site during school hours
- Preferred Credentials (district-dependent): State or national interpreting certification, Educational interpreting credential or assessment, Prior experience supporting students who are deaf or hard of hearing
