Collections Specialist

Responsibilities

Kforce has a client in Alexandria, VA that is seeking a Collections Specialist.Job Summary:The Collections Specialist is responsible for managing assigned accounts to ensure timely payment of outstanding balances. This role focuses on professional communication with customers, resolving billing issues, and maintaining accurate records while supporting overall accounts receivable goals.Key Responsibilities:

• Contact customers via phone, email, and written correspondence regarding past due balances
• Review and analyze customer accounts to determine appropriate collection actions
• Negotiate payment plans in alignment with company policies
• Resolve billing discrepancies and customer concerns in a professional manner
• Maintain detailed and accurate notes within the collections system
• Monitor aging reports and prioritize collection efforts accordingly
• Collaborate with internal teams such as accounting, customer service, and sales
• Ensure compliance with all applicable company policies and regulatory requirements

Skills

• 2+ years of collections experience, preferably at a financial institution
• Basic Excel skills (used for documentation)
• Prior experience using a loan servicing or collections system required

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.


We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
