Interim Assistant Controller/Senior Accountant

We are conducting a confidential search for an experienced Interim Assistant Controller / Senior Accountant to support a growing, private equity-backed organization with a national operating footprint. This is a highly hands-on role for an accounting professional who thrives in a fast-paced, environment and is comfortable jumping into the details. The consultant will support day-to-day accounting, strengthen balance sheet integrity, clean up accounts, and help the finance team execute against immediate priorities. Key Responsibilities Prepare and review journal entries and account reconciliations Perform detailed balance sheet reconciliations and resolve discrepancies Support month-end close and general ledger activities Assist with accounting process improvements and special projects Partner closely with finance leadership to address immediate accounting priorities Operate as a flexible utility player , taking ownership wherever support is needed Required Experience 8+ years of progressive, hands-on accounting experience Senior Accountant, Accounting Manager, Assistant Controller, or comparable experience Strong general ledger, journal entry, and balance sheet reconciliation skills Demonstrated ability to investigate and clean up complex accounts Self-starter who can work independently with limited direction Comfortable wearing multiple hats in a fast-moving environment Highly Preferred Private Equity-backed company experience Construction, infrastructure, field services, or project-based accounting experience Revenue recognition on long term contracts (cost to complete, earned revenue) Job Status/Job Cost Reporting reconciled to general ledger Hands on ERP user experience (ex.
