Security Officer

Location: Nederland, CO 80466 Employment Status: Full-Time Position: Unarmed Security Officer Pay: Up to $25.00 per hour Schedule: Tuesday to Saturday | Overnight Shifts Join Our Team Citadel Security USA is hiring a Full‑Time Unarmed Security Officer to support overnight security operations at a critical infrastructure site in the Nederland area. This position is centered on access control, vehicle screening, gate operations, and maintaining a secure environment for employees, contractors, vendors, and authorized visitors. This opportunity is well suited for individuals who are dependable, attentive, and comfortable working independently in an outdoor environment. Officers assigned to this post play an important role in supporting facility operations by following established security procedures and maintaining a professional presence throughout each shift. Primary Responsibilities Access Control & Gate Operations Monitor vehicle traffic entering and exiting the facility Verify identification and access authorization for employees, contractors, vendors, and visitors Operate access points in accordance with site security procedures Maintain accurate visitor and vehicle entry records Assist with directing traffic to promote safe movement throughout the property Site Security Conduct routine inspections of gates, perimeter areas, and designated checkpoints Observe for unauthorized access, suspicious activity, or security concerns Report unsafe conditions, policy violations, or operational issues promptly Help maintain compliance with facility security requirements Incident Response Respond appropriately to security‑related incidents and unusual situations Follow established emergency procedures and client instructions Notify supervisors and designated site contacts of incidents requiring escalation Support operational continuity during emergencies or changing site conditions Documentation & Communication Complete daily activity logs, visitor records, and incident reports Maintain accurate documentation of security-related events Communicate effectively with supervisors, fellow officers, and facility personnel Provide detailed shift turnover information to incoming staff Minimum Qualifications Must be at least 21 years of age Valid driver's license required Reliable personal transportation Ability to safely operate a vehicle in snow, ice, and other adverse weather conditions Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to work independently during overnight hours Dependable attendance and professional work habits Ability to successfully pass all required background screenings Preferred Qualifications Previous experience in security, access control, gate operations, or traffic management Experience supporting industrial, utility, construction, manufacturing, or critical infrastructure facilities Familiarity with electronic reporting systems and incident documentation Strong observation, problem‑solving, and customer service skills Experience working with contractors, vendors, and delivery personnel Licensing Requirements Current Colorado Security Guard License (SGL) preferred Candidates without an active license must be willing and able to obtain one before assignment Must meet all client‑specific security and screening requirements Equal Opportunity Employer Citadel Security USA is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
