Formed initially as Williamson County Municipal Utility District No. 2 in 1977, BCMUD provides water and wastewater services, recreational activities, beautiful gardens, parks, and miles of trails through the Brushy Creek community. BCMUD operates four swimming pools, four tennis courts, and a disc golf course throughout the community. At the heart of our District is the Brushy Creek Community Center. Our Community Center features two gyms, two racketball courts, weight room, rock wall, and recreational programming, including various fun activities, educational and fitness classes. Brushy Creek employs approximately 190 seasonal, part-time, and full-time team members. Head Swim Instructor Join the Brushy Creek MUD Aquatics Team as the Head Swim Instructor and play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality swim instruction while leading and mentoring a team of instructors. Under the direction of the Aquatics Program Manager, this position oversees the day-to-day operation of the swim lesson program, ensures a safe and positive learning environment, and promotes excellence in aquatic education. The Head Swim Instructor serves as a leader, role model, and resource for staff, students, and families. Job Duties Provide engaging, age-appropriate, and technique-focused swim instruction for participants of all skill levels. Demonstrate professionalism through appearance, conduct, attendance, and communication while serving as a positive role model for staff and students. Train, mentor, supervise, and evaluate swim instructors in accordance with District policies and program standards. Respond promptly and effectively to aquatic emergencies, following all District emergency procedures and protocols. Educate students and families on pool safety practices and reinforce the importance of aquatic safety. Conduct and maintain accurate student skill assessments, progress evaluations, and program records. Collaborate with the Aquatics Specialist and Aquatics Program Manager on lesson scheduling, curriculum implementation, staffing needs, and program development. Serve as the primary point of contact for parents and guardians, addressing questions, concerns, and feedback in a professional and customer-focused manner. Lead and facilitate regular staff meetings, in-service trainings, and professional development opportunities for swim instructors. Monitor program quality and provide recommendations for continuous improvement. Perform additional duties as assigned to support the overall success of aquatics operations and District programs. Minimum Requirement Current American Red Cross Lifeguarding certification, including First Aid and CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers. Current American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor (WSI) certification. Demonstrated experience teaching swim lessons and working with participants of varying ages and abilities. Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Schedule Seasonal position averaging 30–40 hours per week from June through August. Averages 20 hours per week during the remainder of the year, based on program needs. Evening and weekend availability required.
