Compensation: $145k - $160k annually based on experience, additional incentive bonus

Responsibilities

Job Summary

The Maintenance Reliability Manager is a member of the Lucerne management team. This position is responsible for leading the maintenance and reliability processes in a manner that will have a direct impact on profitability, efficiency, cost management, quality, safety, customer satisfaction, and innovation. Key activities for this position include leading maintenance practices that will focus on reaching operational excellence, developing and implementing strategies to increase the skill level across our maintenance resources, and enhancing our maintenance capabilities to deliver improved equipment reliability decreasing our repair and maintenance costs. The position supervises a team and is process, project, and improvement focused.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement strategies that accelerate and improve current maintenance practices and processes to improve equipment performance, reliability and lower repair costs
• Leverage company subject matter experience/experts to advance current maintenance and reliability efforts through enhanced communication and best practice sharing by driving their application globally
• Develop and deliver comprehensive maintenance and reliability tactical training to maintenance resources worldwide
• Identify required equipment and process upgrades and effectively manage associated projects
• Partner with worldwide operations group to coordinate maintenance activities in support of operational excellence. Provide leadership in a Lean Manufacturing environment; consistently driving out waste.
• Coordinate with cross-functional departments (Engineering, R&D, Supply Chain, etc.) to ensure operational effectiveness in new plants and expansions, and life cycle cost considerations in global equipment procurement activities.
• Supervise maintenance department personnel with a commitment to their development through performance management, individualized development plans/opportunities, and visibility.
• Coordinate planned maintenance and connectivity with Maintenance Technicians. Regularly respond with advice to maintenance/equipment related questions, ensure access to up-to-date maintenance/operating procedures, and facilitate strong team communications activities.

• Establish maintain, and leverage value from a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) for tracking work orders, planned/predictive maintenance, spare parts inventory/sharing, MRO management, and maintenance history of plant equipment on a global basis.
• Analyze operational data and equipment performance history to deliver improvements in critical maintenance related metrics including unplanned downtime, PM compliance, schedule compliance, MeanTime-Between-Failures, and maintenance related costs.
• Initiate, implement, and manage the plant maintenance program based on best practices in the chemical/mineral industry, with an emphasis on planning/scheduling, preventive/predictive maintenance, and safety, health & environmental policies and procedures.
• As the immediate supervisor to the maintenance technicians, the Maintenance Manager will need to be able to resolve employee conflicts and concerns should they arise, all the while upholding the company’s values.
• The successful candidate will need to be able to regularly evaluate technician performance, give constant feedback, hold semi-annual and annual reviews, and administer accountability as necessary.

OE/Lean

• Actively participates in sustainable improvement processes and utilizes OE tools, such as 5S, Kaizen, Daily Management Control, Standard Work, Problem Solving, among others.
  • Works to ensure alignment with corporate TPM vision, precision maintenance, and preventive maintenance methodology
  • Incorporates Lean Manufacturing principles and tools such as 5S, Kaizen, TPM, Standard Work and Kanban to drive change and generate cost savings.

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• 5 plus years related experience providing supervision and technical support in manufacturing maintenance.
• Hands-on plant experience installing, operating and maintaining wet and dry chemical or minerals processing equipment, maintenance management systems, preventive and predictive maintenance is required.
• Candidates with strong Lean\TPM experience are highly preferred.
• Mechanical and electrical aptitude to train, audit and monitor work in plant process areas is required.
• Must have a mature understanding of Operation Excellence, including the use of Lean Manufacturing tools such as 5S, Kaizen, TPM, Standard Work and Kanban.
• Must have expert communication skills, experience in working with multiple projects at once, and must be willing to support global business objectives (multiple time zones, foreign countries).

Working Conditions:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is typically required to regularly conduct work in a controlled office environment, moving around the office as needed, walking, sitting at a desk, and using office equipment, including but not limited to a personal computer, fax, copier, scanner and phone. Regular contact with individuals internal and external to the organization occurs via various methods of communication. On an infrequent basis, there may be exposure to plant production areas, which may include varying temperatures, exposure to outside weather conditions as well as loud noise from equipment and dust from production processes. Exposure to plant areas requires the use of appropriate safety equipment. Personal protective equipment is available for employee use in these circumstances.

Work Hours: The schedule is typically the day shift. However, employee must have ability to work the shift/number of hours in which duties need to be accomplished, including overtime, holidays and weekends, if necessary.

Safety Training:

A new employee hired to perform the duties of this position is to be provided New Employee Training. This will include online training as well as instruction from a qualified individual in a classroom type of training setting.

Safety Equipment:

Safety equipment is available for use if a situation arises where it becomes required or desired by the employee.
